How to Make Yourself Laugh

Hello loves!

I have realized that my 20’s are going to be more like a roller coaster ride than a planned walk on the beach. Friends will come and go, jobs will make me feel as though I am worthless, school will keep my stress levels in check and my living situation will most likely never be stable. However, I found the SECRET to keeping my sanity through these “terrible twenties”: LAUGHTER.

Laughter is a combination of facial expressions, sounds and bodily movements indicating strong happiness or amusement. It is used as a magical power by humans to create a blissful state of mind in any situation, regardless of what they are dealing with. Laughter is the best medicine that can cure the worst of physical or mental ailments. When one participates in laughter, he or she is shedding off their worries or fears and just simply living in moment. Always remember that yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. Enjoy that gift and make it amusing. Besides, you only have one life to live. Why not make your life entertaining and joyful?

I have created a list that you can try at home to make yourself laugh.

Here are a few of my favorites:

  1. Watch a funny movie or TV show.
  2. Make funny faces in a mirror.
  3. Fake it ‘til you make it.
  4. Sit upside down on a couch and pretend to laugh.
  5. Make loud funny noises.
  6. Do a silly dance in front of the mirror to make yourself laugh.
